Ebuka is the Principal Partner of the Firm and heads the Firm’s Dispute Resolution,Energy, and the Oil and Gas department.
He is a seasoned trial lawyer and practitioner with vast experience representing
and advising both local and international clients at the High Courts (State and
Federal) of various states in Nigeria, National Industrial Court, Election Petition
Tribunal, Investment and Securities Tribunal and the Appellate Courts on areas
of law spanning: Debt Recovery; Debt Restructuring & Insolvency Law; Debt
Securitisation; Labour Law; Intellectual Property and Entertainment Law; Tax
Litigation; Capital Markets Litigation; Maritime Law; Election Petition; Conflict of
laws; Corporate and Commercial law; Energy and Oil & Gas Law; Criminal Law;
Property and Land law disputes.
To hone his Advocacy, Drafting, analytical and negotiation skills, Ebuka was an
active team member of the Dispute Resolution team at Wole Olanipekun & Co
where he obtained vast experience through his direct involvement in ground
breaking election petition cases, matters before the Federal High Court, High
Court and Court of Appeal.
Prior to setting up Blackburn Legal, Ebuka was an active member of Punuka
Attorneys & Solicitors’ Criminal and Commercial Litigation Team where on
numerous occasions, he acted as lead counsel and team lead on several cases. He has successfully represented high prole clients like the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), First Bank of Nigeria Ltd, Rosabon Financial Services Ltd, Petrolex Oil & Gas as well as other clients in the financial services market. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Law from the prestigious University of Lagos and is a member of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA). Whilst at the University of Lagos, Ebuka was recognised for his outstanding leadership skills and role as President of the Oil and Gas bar, University of Lagos chapter. He has also demonstrated an advanced knowledge of Arbitration in Nigeria and recently, was conferred with the rank of Member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators, United Kingdom.
